About The Saucer

Following a successful, exciting and entertaining run at our home ground at Winkfield, CADS is taking The Saucer on tour. The Saucer is inspired by the true evemts of The Great Flying Saucer invasion of 1967 when a "flying saucer" was discovered in a field near the NASA satellite tracking station at Winkfield in Berkshire, putting the MoD on red alert. With another five flying saucers discovered along the 51st parallel, was this a psyop, a nuclear, chemical or biological attack, extra-terrestrial or something else?

Coinciding with the state visit of Queen Frederika, enthusiastically conducting foreign affairs for her country, hippie UFO followers gather at the tracking station to seeking telepathic communication with life forms on other planets, amongst them an enigmatic free thinking cosmologist, this comedy is light, frothy entertainment recalling the heady optimism and evolving attitudes of the 1960s

Comedy elements include nods to Star Wars, Lost in Space, Star Trek, Dr Who and The Bionic Man.
